Study Permit

A temporary residence permit may be issued to a person who intends to study at an educational establishment, to take part in an internship programme, to undergo in-service training or to take part in vocational training in the Republic of Lithuania if you:

 
1)    Have been enrolled as a full-time student at a higher educational establishment;
2)    Have been enrolled as a secondary school pupil
3)    Have been invited to take part in an internship programme;
4)    Have been invited to undergo in-service training;
5)    Have been enrolled in the list of participants in vocational training programme.
 
The person applying for a temporary residence permit based on the grounds mentioned above shall be issued a temporary residence permit for the period of training, studies, taking part in internship programme, in-service training, vocational training period, but for no longer than one year.
 
A temporary residence permit may be replaced provided that you meet the conditions of replacement of a residence permit and submit documents confirming that you have not been removed from the lists of students, pupils, participants in internship or in-service programmes.
 
Upon the termination of the study period or discontinuation of studies you must depart from the Republic of Lithuania.
 
A person who receives a permit to work during the study period shall have the right to work during full-time studies not longer than 20 hours per week and only beginning from the second year of studies.
